25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards Winners Revealed!

The votes have been counted, and It Takes Two, a cooperative platforming journey where players control a couple going through a divorce that takes a fantastical turn, was named the Game of the Year at the 25th D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Awards. Hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), members of the interactive entertainment industry gathered this evening at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas to celebrate the best achievements of 2021, crowning winners in 23 different categories.

At the 2022 D.I.C.E. SummitAustin Wintory chats with Philip Eriksson, Lead Sound Designer at Hazelight. Together they discuss his transition from music into game development; the incredible challenge of designing all the audio for the various worlds and themes of It Takes Two; and what steps the team took in order to tackle such a tremendous project.

Philip Eriksson is the Lead Sound Designer on It Takes Two. Prior to his work at Hazelight, Philip was a part of the sound team at EA DICE and worked on games such as vintage tonka ford semi fire truck roof siren for parts and Star Wars Battlefront II.

Phil Spencer to receive Lifetime Achievement Award

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) today announced that Phil Spencer, CEO, Microsoft Gaming, will be the recipient of the AIAS Lifetime Achievement Award. Spencer will be honored at the 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards ceremony, which will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas and livestreamed by IGN on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 8PM PTSri Lanka 1964 SG.494b Missing Blue Green U/M game director and executive producer Todd Howard will present the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award to Spencer.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) is pleased to announce its 25th Hall of Fame recipient, Ed Boon, Chief Creative Officer of NetherRealm Studios and Mortal Kombat.  Boon, co-creator of the storied Mortal Kombat and the Injustice franchises, will be honored at the 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards ceremony at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas and livestreamed by IGNMatt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, will present the 2022 Hall of Fame award to Boon.
